Nexium, a drug that was approved in 1999 and is now widely recognized for its effectiveness in the treatment of heartburn, is a new drug developed by AstraZeneca.
Nexium is a proton pump inhibitor that is commonly used to treat heartburn that occurs as a result of a heartburn attack. The drug works by reducing stomach acid and lowering the amount of acid in the stomach.
In fact, Nexium is the only drug in the same class of drugs which can significantly treat GERD, including omeprazole and esomeprazole. These medications are also effective in treating heartburn caused by acid reflux disease.
While the drug is approved to treat acid reflux disease, it is not approved to treat heartburn caused by any other disease. In fact, there are a number of other medications which are currently in short supply in the United States.
The drug is also known as Nexium, a medication which is used to treat a painful condition known as heartburn. It is a drug which works by decreasing the amount of acid in the stomach and reducing the amount of acid in the esophagus. There are no generic versions of Nexium.
